Julia C. Rieman is a distinguished appellate attorney and shareholder at Gungoll Jackson with more than three decades of legal experience. She is widely recognized for her legal intellect, persuasive writing, and deep commitment to the continued development of Oklahoma law through appellate advocacy.
Julia earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1992, where she graduated at the top of her class and received numerous honors, including the Judge W. Lee Johnson Award for highest cumulative GPA, the Phillips Allen Porta Memorial Award for excellence in legal ethics, and American Jurisprudence Awards in a remarkable seven subjects. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech, Theatre, and Education from Oklahoma State University, where she was named to both the Dean’s and President’s Honor Rolls.

Julia has been a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association since 1992 and served on the Board of Editors for the Oklahoma Bar Journal (2004–2009). She is also a long-standing member of the Garfield County Bar Association, where she served as Secretary (2016), Vice President (2017), and President (2018).
Known for her assertiveness, deep legal knowledge, and empathetic approach to clients and colleagues, Julia is driven by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through her legal work. She takes particular pride in her contributions to the development of new law through precedent-setting decisions from Oklahoma’s highest courts.
Outside the courtroom, Julia is an avid billiards player, an active participant in community theatre, and an enthusiastic traveler, always exploring new places and perspectives.
